Albany, NY – After three days of hearing testimony, The Wagoner Firm and Gora LLC obtained a favorable award on behalf of their client in an arbitration of a securities-related matter.
Our client built a successful financial advisement company over nearly 30 years. When the time came to retire, he executed a contract to sell his book of business and the industry relationships that he established over his long career.
Those assets, relationships, and customers were transferred, but the opposing contracting party did not pay for the benefits of the bargain it received.
As a result, our client demanded arbitration on his breach of contract claim, and after a three-day trial, which included several witnesses and countless financial documents, an award was rendered in his favor.
The team included Matt Wagoner and Matt Toporowski of The Wagoner Firm PLLC and Rich Gora of Gora LLC. Both Firms work together often and maintain a strong securities practice by representing financial professionals in FINRA arbitrations, SEC investigations, and complex commercial disputes.
The Wagoner Firm and Gora are committed to achieving the best possible results for their clients, and are willing to go to trial to do so, as exemplified by this case.
