Matthew is an accomplished attorney whose practice focuses on commercial litigation, business law, and corporate transactions. With a passion for resolving complex disputes and guiding businesses and business owners through discrete legal challenges, Matthew brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his clients.
As a key member of the firm’s litigation team, Matthew represents clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, and other related claims in State and Federal Courts. Matthew’s experience includes drafting and filing pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, and other litigation documents. He also attends compliance and settlement conferences, participates in alternative dispute resolution, and drafts and negotiates settlement agreements. Matthew’s strategic approach and attention to detail have consistently yielded favorable outcomes for his clients.
In addition to his litigation practice, Matthew is an integral part of the firm’s corporate practice group where he represents clients in a variety of corporate transactions, including the acquisition and sale of business interests. Drawing on his expertise in negotiating stock and membership interest purchase agreements, promissory notes, security agreements, and other essential documents, Matthew plays a pivotal role in facilitating seamless transactions for his clients. He also provides comprehensive legal counsel on commercial real property matters such drafting and revising purchase and sale agreements, leases, amendments, assignments, terminations, deeds, and ancillary transfer documents. Matthew coordinates and attends commercial real estate closings, reviews title reports and loan documents, and guides clients through real estate transactions from contract execution to closing.
Additionally, Matthew proactively advises clients on a wide range of corporate governance matters. He works closely with businesses of all sizes, from startups to mature companies, to provide tailored legal solutions that align with their strategic objectives. Matthew earned his Juris Doctor degree from Albany Law Schol, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2021. While in law school, he served as a research assistant to Professor Patrick M. Connors, the author of New York Practice and McKinney’s Practice Commentaries on CPLR Article 31. Matthew also served as Editor in Chief of Dr. Vincent Bonventre’s Center for Judicial Process.
Prior to attending law school, Matthew earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany, graduating magna cum laude.
