Carolyn is an experienced attorney who has over twenty five years of experience as a pension attorney, an expert in Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (“QDROs”) and post-judgement matrimonial litigation. She graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1994, after attending the State University of New York at Binghamton and graduating with a double major with honors in Economics and English Literature where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Carolyn also holds an LLM (Master of Laws) degree in Estate Planning and Elder Law from the Western New England School of Law. Prior to managing her statewide QDRO practice for more than 16 years, she was Assistant Counsel to the New York State Retirement Systems where she was Director of Hearing Administration and the Matrimonial Unit and an Associate at a top litigation firm in Albany.
Carolyn has presented Continuing Legal Education seminars on pension and divorce issues on both a state and national level and is an experienced litigator in both Supreme and Appellate court matters involving post-divorce financial issues, hidden assets and contempt applications. In her former practice in Clifton Park, New York, she provided pension consultation services to parties, attorneys and judges throughout the state of New York. Her focus is on pension consulting for individuals and businesses, litigated divorce and post-judgment matters, prenuptial agreements, along with the drafting of wills and trusts for clients wishing to protect their assets and provide for loved ones. She is a trained mediator and is passionate about assisting clients in alternative dispute methods to avoid the time and expense of protracted litigation.
