Oversaw $93MM Initial Public Offering; Two Follow-on Offerings (&61MM & $58MM)
ALBANY, N.Y. – Ana-Maria Galeano has joined The Wagoner Firm PLLC as Of Counsel. Galeano is a business and corporate attorney with over 20 years of experience guiding executive management and cross functional teams through complex global transactions. She is based in the firm’s Albany office, and will provide guidance to The Wagoner Firm clients across the its Business & Corporate law practice.
Galeano is the former General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Plug Power, Inc., a fuel cell development and manufacturing company, where she played a critical role helping the company grow from a startup with 22 employees through initial public offering (IPO) with 500 employees and over 100 patents. During this time, Galeano was responsible for the establishment of a legal department that oversaw Plug Power’s IPO ($93M), two follow-on offerings ($61M and $58M), international acquisitions ($45M and $10M), and the creation of strategic alliances with companies in Europe and Asia, including General Electric and Honda. She was also involved in raising over $100 million in private funding prior to Plug Power’s IPO, and $30 million from federal and state agencies. In her capacity as Corporate Secretary, Galeano advised the Board of Directors on corporate governance and security law issues.

Galeano was also a co-founder, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of H2Pump, LLC, a hydrogen recycling and pumping company, where she was instrumental in securing over $12M in private and government financing, several patents, and the delivery of the company’s first beta products.

Galeano earned her J.D. degree at Brooklyn Law School, where she was awarded a fellowship by the Law School’s Dennis J. Block Center for the Study of International Business Law. She also graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a B.A in history, minor in Russian language and literature, and business adjunct degree from the University’s School of Management.
